Karo Sambhav, a startup focused on recycling and the circular economy, has raised Rs 56 crore (US$6 million) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, the investment initiative backed by Zerodha.
The company plans to use the new funding to build and expand recycling facilities that can recover valuable materials from waste, helping improve resource reuse and reduce environmental impact.
“Rainmatter backs organisations building long-term solutions for climate resilience, sustainability and resource efficiency. Karo Sambhav has demonstrated patient execution and systems-level impact in a difficult sector,” said Viraj Joshi, Vice-President at Zerodha and Rainmatter.
“India’s manufacturing future will require reliable access to critical, precious and high-value materials. Many of these materials are already present in products that have reached the end of life,” said Pranshu Singhal, founder and chief executive of Karo Sambhav.

Founded in 2017 by Pranshu Singhal, Gurugram-based Karo Sambhav has operated for nearly nine years without raising external funding. During this time, the company has built a strong presence in the recycling sector.
The company currently runs two recycling plants and has established waste collection networks in more than 50 cities across India. It has already helped recycle over 150,000 tonnes of waste.
Karo Sambhav is mainly focused on e-waste recycling. Electronic waste contains valuable materials such as gold, silver, copper, tantalum, and rare earth elements that are used in electronics and advanced manufacturing.
Its upcoming recycling facility has been approved under a government incentive program that supports critical mineral recycling. The program is part of the National Critical Minerals Mission (NCMM) led by India's Ministry of Mines.
