MATTER Motor Works Raises $25 Mn to Expand Electric Motorcycle Manufacturing in India

Ahmedabad-based electric motorcycle company MATTER Motor Works has raised US$25 million (around ₹240–250 crore) in a new growth funding round. The company is known for its electric motorcycle, the AERA.

MATTER also plans to expand its dealership network across the country. The company will use part of the funding to develop new electric motorcycle models and strengthen its presence in the growing electric two-wheeler market.

Founded in Ahmedabad, MATTER Motor Works is an electric vehicle company focused on building electric motorcycles for the Indian market. The company aims to create bikes that offer strong performance while using electric power.

Its main product is the AERA, an electric motorcycle designed for the mid-premium segment. The bike combines electric motor technology with a design and riding experience similar to a traditional motorcycle.

MATTER is positioning its electric motorcycles as an alternative to petrol-powered bikes. The company is mainly targeting the 150cc–200cc motorcycle segment, where it sees an opportunity for electric models with better performance.
