Ofiniti Acquires ZeroNorth’s eBDN Business to Expand in Singapore

Maritime technology company Ofiniti has agreed to acquire ZeroNorth’s electronic bunker delivery note (eBDN) business, including Singapore-based BTS Pte. Ltd.

SUMMARY

  • Ofiniti will acquire ZeroNorth’s eBDN business, including BTS Pte. Ltd.
  • The deal will expand Ofiniti’s digital bunkering platform in Singapore.
  • ZeroNorth will focus on bunkering procurement, pricing, planning and agentic AI.

After the deal is completed, ZeroNorth’s eBDN technology and customers will move to Ofiniti’s Bunker Operating System. The financial details and completion date of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition is part of Ofiniti’s multimillion-dollar investment in Singapore. The country is the world’s largest bunkering hub and is playing an important role in the digitalization of marine fuel operations.

Electronic bunker delivery notes replace paper documents used to record marine fuel deliveries. Ofiniti said the acquisition will strengthen its digital bunkering platform and help bring more bunkering activities into one system.

Ofiniti currently serves more than 200 customers globally and has processed more than 50,000 bunker operations since becoming an independent company in 2024.

BTS Pte. Ltd. is the Singapore-based legal entity and license holder behind ZeroNorth’s eBDN solution. The company will become part of Ofiniti after the acquisition is completed.

The deal is Ofiniti’s third acquisition since its spinout from DNV in 2024. The company previously acquired Singapore-based Angsana Technology and Dutch maritime technology company Teqplay.

Ofiniti is building its Bunker Operating System to connect different parts of the bunkering process, including supply, demand, delivery and infrastructure.

For ZeroNorth, the transaction is part of its decision to focus its bunkering business on procurement, pricing and planning.

ZeroNorth CEO Søren Andersen said the company believes Ofiniti is well positioned to continue developing the eBDN solution for the maritime industry.

ZeroNorth will continue to focus on connecting fuel purchasing decisions with voyage and vessel operations. The company also plans to increase the use of agentic AI across voyage-related workflows.

Singapore will remain an important market for Ofiniti as the company continues to expand its business. Ofiniti plans to increase its investment in technology, talent and its presence in the country.

Following the acquisition, Ofiniti and ZeroNorth will work with customers to ensure a smooth transition and continued service.

leadership statements

Søren Andersen, CEO of ZeroNorth, said: "eBDN has an important role to play in the continued digitalization of fuel operations, and we are proud of what we have built. We believe Ofiniti is well placed to take eBDN forward and continue developing it for the industry. ZeroNorth will continue to invest in bunkering, focusing on the areas where we can create the greatest impact for the industry – connecting fuel decisions more closely with voyage and vessel operations, while increasingly applying agentic AI across the voyage."

Tue Raguse, CEO of Ofiniti, said: "Bunkering has been built around fragmented systems, data and ways of working, and we see a huge opportunity to change that"

"We are deliberately building Ofiniti to connect supply, demand and infrastructure in one ecosystem. That means growing organically, but also bringing together strong businesses and technology where that can create better solutions for customers and a more connected industry."
