Singapore’s PRECISE and Temus Launch Joint Innovation Centre for Precision Medicine

Singapore’s Precision Health Research (PRECISE) and Temus have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a joint innovation centre supporting Phase III of Singapore’s National Precision Medicine programme.

The agreement was signed on October 2, 2026, at the Precision Health Partnerships in Singapore event. The initiative will focus on developing technology, data infrastructure, and processes to help bring genomic research into clinical healthcare.

Supporting Singapore’s National Precision Medicine Programme

Phase III of Singapore’s National Precision Medicine programme was launched in November 2025 and will run until 2031. The phase aims to sequence the whole genomes of around 450,000 Singapore residents, representing about 10% of the country’s resident population.

The programme builds on the previous phase, which sequenced around 100,000 genomes and explored how genomic information could be used in healthcare.

What Will the PRECISE-Temus Centre Do?

What Will the PRECISE-Temus Centre Do

The new PRECISE-Temus Joint Innovation Centre will develop platforms for processing and analysing large-scale whole-genome data.

The centre will also work on secure data infrastructure and safeguards for evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.

According to the partners, their earlier collaboration has already supported a genomics data system handling around 13.6 petabytes (PB) of data. The system is being upgraded to handle more than 60 PB, while processing times are being reduced from weeks to days.

Building Genomics and AI Capabilities

The centre will also support the development of specialist talent in areas such as computational biology and bioinformatics.

For Temus, the initiative represents a healthcare application of its AI Foundry, through which the company is developing and deploying AI capabilities in Singapore.

The collaboration is intended to strengthen the infrastructure required to manage genomic data securely and support the wider use of precision medicine in clinical care.
