Singtel announced its collaboration with Google to offer Rich Communication Services (RCS) with Rich Business Messaging to its business customers – a first in Singapore. Google’s RCS is the evolution in traditional short messaging services (SMS), which enables smart devices running on the Android operating system to receive high-quality multimedia content, transact and complete administrative tasks like scheduling appointments or track deliveries.

Supported by Singtel’s nationwide network, RCS seamlessly integrates into the native SMS application of Android smart devices without the need for any action by the user. This unlocks opportunities for businesses across sectors to better engage their customers through an improved, immersive mobile messaging experience. RCS services will be available for compay’s business customers in Singapore within the first quarter of 2024.
