Tamkeen announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Oracle to open a specialized engineering center for Oracle in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came on the sidelines of the Gulf Gateway Forum 2024, which is hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in its second edition with international participation from senior government officials, business leaders, and executives.

Through this partnership, Oracle will provide the necessary technical training and professional certifications for national competencies to strengthen the IT talent base in the Kingdom and employ Bahrainis in the IT field, as organizations increasingly look to employ local talent to drive innovation and digital growth. This initiative will also help meet the growing demand for Oracle Cloud solutions in the Arabian Gulf region.
This partnership comes in line with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for the year 2024, which are based on three main axes: raising the rate of Bahrainis’ integration into the labor market by creating qualitative employment opportunities, especially for new entrants, in addition to expanding support for career development for Bahrainis working in the private sector, and developing the private sector by supporting institutions, raising productivity, and employing technology, which contributes to enhancing economic impact and sustainable growth.
On this occasion, Her Excellency Maha Abdul Hamid Mufiz, CEO of the Labor Fund “ Tamkeen ”, stressed: “We are keen to provide national cadres with the necessary skills that meet the requirements of the labor market in the growing field of information technology, which ensures their competitiveness at the local and global levels.”
“Our training programs will support the growth of Oracle ’s partner ecosystem in Bahrain and provide an industry-leading learning platform for Bahraini students, ” said Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President, of Tech Cloud, Oracle Middle East and Africa.
As part of the agreement, Oracle and Tamkeen will collaborate to offer Tamkeen-supported Oracle training programs to develop the skills of national technical talents to meet the needs of Oracle’s engineering center in Bahrain. This initiative will also help qualify local technical talents for Oracle customers in the region, enhancing Bahrain’s position as a hub for technical talent.
