India’s largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced a new strategic partnership with French AI company Mistral.
Under this partnership, TCS has become the first global systems integrator (GSI) partner for Mistral Forge, which is Mistral’s business AI platform.
With this collaboration, TCS will use Mistral Forge to help companies build their own custom AI models using their internal data and industry expertise.
TCS will also create a special Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Mistral. This centre will work on new AI ideas, build solutions for different industries, manage projects, and train employees. It will also give TCS early access to Mistral’s latest AI models before they are officially launched.

This partnership is happening at a time when large IT companies are investing heavily in generative AI, as more businesses are moving from small experiments to full-scale AI adoption.
TCS said the first focus of this partnership will be industries like banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector. These industries need AI solutions that are tailored to their specific rules and business requirements.
Arthur Mensch, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder at Mistral, said, “TCS’ global scale and contextual industry knowledge make them an ideal partner for Mistral. Together, we are enabling enterprises worldwide to move from experimentation to AI deployment with systems that are open, production-ready and aligned with their strategic and operational requirements.”
K Krithivasan, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director at TCS said, “This partnership expands TCS’ AI ecosystem, uniquely positioning TCS to create a differentiated solution proposition for our clients. Together with Mistral, we will solve for specific industry challenges, regulatory requirements, and sovereign needs for our enterprise customers.”
This step supports TCS’s broader “Infrastructure to Intelligence” AI strategy. Under this plan, the company is investing in all parts of AI, including infrastructure, AI models, data, applications, and platforms, to help businesses use AI more effectively.
