Amazon Web Services (AWS) has partnered with Manara to launch a $3.6 million initiative to train 2,500 software engineers across the Middle East and North Africa in cloud computing over the next two years.
The program will focus on building skills in cloud technologies, data science, and artificial intelligence. Training will be delivered through Manara’s technical education platform, where participants will receive AWS certifications and support to secure employment.
Both AWS and Manara see the region as a fast-growing tech hub. This initiative follows AWS’s recent $5.3 billion investment in Saudi Arabia, further underlining its long-term commitment to the region.
Graduates of the program will be connected with job opportunities at companies across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and North America through Manara’s recruitment network.
Antonio Alonso Lopez, Partner Director at AWS for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, emphasised the goal of equipping learners with in-demand cloud and AI skills and highlighted the importance of working with partners like Manara to unlock career opportunities in the digital economy.
Manara, a social impact startup, is dedicated to developing top tech talent in the MENA region, with a strong focus on empowering women in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
