Oct 1, 2026 | By Nguyen Minh

Singapore and Hong Kong-based cybersecurity company ThreatBook has acquired CyberStrikeAI an open-source AI-powered penetration testing platform to strengthen its red team and security testing capabilities.
The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. ThreatBook said it plans to integrate CyberStrikeAI into its security portfolio while continuing development of both its open-source and enterprise versions.
How ThreatBook Will Use CyberStrikeAI
ThreatBook plans to use CyberStrikeAI to support controlled red team exercises that simulate attacker behavior. The goal is to help organizations identify security weaknesses and improve their defenses.
The company said it will continue supporting an open-source version of the platform while developing an enterprise edition with additional security and governance features.

ThreatBook founder and CEO Xue Feng said the increasing speed of AI-assisted reconnaissance and exploitation is reducing the time available for defenders to respond to cyber threats.
Enterprise Version and Security Controls
The enterprise edition is planned to support on-premises deployment, allowing organizations to keep their security testing data within their own networks.
ThreatBook also plans to add features such as audit trails and permission controls for AI agent actions. These measures are intended to provide greater oversight of automated security testing.
The acquisition comes as AI powered offensive security tools receive greater attention from the cybersecurity industry. Independent research from Team Cymru reported observing CyberStrikeAI activity from 21 unique IP addresses between January 20 and February 26, 2026. The research also highlighted potential risks associated with automated offensive security tools.
CyberStrikeAI's documentation states that the platform is intended for educational and authorized security testing and requires users to obtain permission before testing systems.
Enterprise Trial Starts in China
ThreatBook said a trial version of the CyberStrikeAI enterprise edition is now available in mainland China. The company plans to expand availability across the Asia-Pacific region in October 2026.
ThreatBook has not disclosed the pricing of the enterprise edition, customer commitments, staffing changes or whether CyberStrikeAI's original developers will join the company.
