In 2019, Codota acquired Canadian startup Tabnine and changed its name to Tabnine. It became one of the first companies to offer AI coding assistants, years before GitHub Copilot and the rapid growth of generative AI.
"When we began building the Enterprise Context Engine, we believed enterprise AI had a context problem," Tabnine said in announcing the acquisition. "AI agents couldn't make reliable decisions about systems they didn't truly understand. Searching documents wasn't enough."
The company said that joining Tricentis will help its AI technology reach more businesses and work on a much larger scale through Tricentis' AI-powered software testing platform.
Tabnine also confirmed that its existing customers will continue to receive full support for its products. The companies added that many businesses already use both Tabnine and Tricentis, making the integration smooth and a natural fit.
