This milestone deal, marking Venturebeam’s first anniversary in Asia, underscores its dedication to driving global impact through capital, technology, and innovation. Headquartered in London, Venturebeam launched in Asia with an exclusive event in March 2024 at Singapore’s Four Seasons Hotel, attended by over 100 venture capital firms, family offices, and industry leaders. The event featured renowned serial entrepreneur and investor Taizo Son, a key supporter and investor in Venturebeam. In his keynote speech, Taizo Son emphasized his belief in Venturebeam as a partner aligned with his vision of creating a Silicon Valley-like ecosystem in Asia, one that connects investors with exceptional entrepreneurs.
As the world’s largest impact investor platform, Venturebeam is reshaping the venture investment landscape by transforming how companies access capital. As a central hub for investors with over US$10 billion AUM, Venturebeam connects, shares, and analyzes deal flow while managing secondary transactions. The platform supports impact-driven entrepreneurs who are pioneering innovations for a sustainable future. In Southeast Asia, Venturebeam is focused on nurturing emerging ecosystems in countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, unlocking their full potential. This aligns with Venturebeam’s broader mission to advance impact investing as a leading sector for global asset allocation, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. In June 2024, Venturebeam facilitated a €30 million Series B funding round for XOCEAN alongside VentureWave Capital, Endeavor Catalyst, and Enterprise Ireland. The company, a leader in carbon-neutral ocean data, has used the funding to expand into Australia with a new technical center in Melbourne.
A significant milestone for Venturebeam is the launch of its free-to-use proprietary tool, the ‘Venture Impact Score,’ designed to help venture-backed companies measure and share their global impact. As part of this, Venturebeam has partnered with Google Startups for Sustainable Development (SFSD) to create a comprehensive ecosystem for startups driving meaningful progress toward global sustainable development. This partnership will allow companies in the Google SFSD program to access Venturebeam’s capital-raising support and investor network. The Venture Impact Score will help them assess and enhance their impact.
Since its Asia launch, Venturebeam has led the charge in impact investing, steadily expanding its network of over 200 venture capital firms, family offices, and professional investors. During the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2024, Venturebeam hosted an exclusive, invitation-only roundtable dinner to explore the transformative potential and global implications of AI. The event brought together thought leaders, founders, and investors in AI, focusing on near-term prospects, challenges, and trends. In recognition of its leadership in impact and sustainability, Venturebeam received the inaugural ‘SME Rising Star in Sustainability’ award at the EuroCham Sustainability Awards 2024, presented by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat.
