VinFast and Exposure SARL Sign MoU to Boost Green Transportation in DR Congo

VinFast and Exposure SARL have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore supplying electric vehicles for green taxi services in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This agreement is an important step in VinFast’s plan to expand internationally and also supports the move toward cleaner, environmentally friendly transportation in the capital city of the DRC.

Under the MoU, VinFast and Exposure will work together to plan the supply of the first batch of VinFast electric vehicles for electric taxi services in Kinshasa. The first vehicles are expected to include the Limo Green and Herio Green models, which are designed for commercial use. This will be the starting point for building a fully electric taxi system and encouraging zero-emission transport in Congo’s capital.

Exposure has also shown interest in becoming an official distributor of VinFast vehicles in Congo. Both companies will study a business plan that fits local market needs and have agreed to continue working together in good faith for future collaboration.

This agreement follows a larger partnership signed in 2025 between Vingroup (VinFast’s parent company) and the City of Kinshasa, which aims to explore the use of VinFast’s electric buses, cars and scooters in the city. Earlier, Vingroup and Kinshasa’s authorities also signed an MoU to develop a large riverside urban project covering around 6,300 hectares, including homes, hospitals, schools, shopping centers, hotels, and entertainment spaces. The project is expected to boost tourism and become a key symbol of the city’s future growth.

Overall, these partnerships support Congo’s long-term goal of sustainable urban development and green transportation especially in fast-growing cities like Kinshasa. The initiative takes advantage of the country’s renewable energy potential and supports the shift toward clean, smart, and efficient mobility solutions.

Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales, VinFast, stated: “The cooperation with Exposure SARL reflects VinFast’s confidence in the potential for green transportation in Africa and reaffirms our commitment to delivering modern, accessible green mobility solutions tailored to each market. We believe that VinFast’s electric vehicle products, proven across multiple markets, combined with Exposure’s local expertise, will help accelerate the transition to green transportation in Congo.”

Mr. Fely Samuna Lukwaka, Chief Executive Officer of Exposure SARL, said: “We are very pleased to cooperate with VinFast toward a low emission mobility future for the Democratic Republic of the Congo in general and the capital Kinshasa in particular. With a population of more than 120 million and a strategic location bordering nine countries, forming a regional market of over 200 million people, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has strong potential to become a gateway for electric vehicle development in Central Africa. We have full confidence in VinFast’s technological capabilities and product ecosystem, and we expect this cooperation to establish a foundation for the next stages of development of the electric vehicle market not only in the DRC but across the wider region.”

VinFast is a company that makes only electric vehicles and is part of Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest private company group. Its goal is to support the global shift toward smart electric vehicles.

In recent years, VinFast has expanded into new and growing markets such as India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Middle East, while also strengthening its presence in Europe and North America. The company’s strategic plans for 2025 are expected to create strong growth and prepare it for bigger achievements in 2026.
