Israeli software company Amdocs is increasing its focus on artificial intelligence by hiring the founders and development team of startup Yess.
Yess is a small startup founded in 2023 that develops autonomous AI agent systems and has mostly stayed out of the public spotlight.
The companies did not reveal the financial details of the deal, but industry experts estimate its value at around $8 million to $10 million.
Yess has a team of 13 employees and has raised about $7 million in funding since it was founded.
Yess was founded by former AWS Israel executives Jonathan Bregman, Ido Perlson, Matan Zutta, and David Feldstein. The startup develops AI agent systems for enterprise customers.
Before starting Yess, the four founders worked together for six years at Amazon Web Services, handling areas such as sales, cloud architecture, and infrastructure operations. They launched Yess in July 2023 with support from S Capital.
The entire founding and development team of Yess will join Amdocs’ Generative AI and Data division. The division was created about a year ago as Amdocs increased its investments in AI technology and products.
The division is led by senior vice president Ilan Sade and manages the company’s AI strategy, engineering, product development, and business operations. One of its key projects is an “Agentic Operating System” (aOS), a platform built specially for telecom companies.
“AI agent systems are redefining our industry, and Amdocs is proud to stand at the forefront of this revolution,” Sade said in a statement announcing the deal.
The acquisition highlights a growing trend in the enterprise software industry, where large companies are buying small and specialized AI startups instead of building AI agent technology completely on their own.
In recent months, companies in sectors such as cybersecurity and enterprise automation have increased acquisitions of AI-focused startups to speed up product development and hire skilled AI engineers.
Jonathan Bregman, Yess co-founder and CEO, said the integration into Amdocs would allow the startup’s technology and team to operate at far greater scale.
“Amdocs sits at the core of operations for nearly all major service providers in the world,” Bregman said. “The Yess team will now have the opportunity to help Amdocs accelerate the entire telecom industry toward a future of AI agents.”
