What is Bonbon Mobility?

Bonbon Mobility is a Ho Chi Minh City-based startup building a digital platform for Vietnam’s car-care market. It connects car owners with garages and automotive service providers through an online booking and service platform.

The company initially focuses on car wash and vehicle care services with plans to expand into maintenance, detailing and other services across the vehicle lifecycle. Bonbon works with existing garages instead of building its own physical service locations.

Funding Details

Bonbon Mobility has raised $500,000 in a pre-seed round led by Tasco CVC. GenAI Fund also participated in the round.

The startup estimates that Vietnam has more than 12,500 car-wash and vehicle-care facilities, many of which are independent operators. Bonbon aims to bring these businesses onto its digital platform and help them reach more customers.

Tasco is also contributing access to its car-owner base, distribution channels, VETC ecosystem, data, payment infrastructure, and other automotive services.

How Will Bonbon Mobility Use the Funding?

The fresh capital will be used to expand Bonbon’s network of partner garages and car-care providers. The company will also invest in improving its technology platform, user experience, and digital tools for service providers.

The funding will further support the expansion of Bonbon’s service portfolio across the vehicle ownership journey.

Who Founded Bonbon Mobility?

Bonbon Mobility is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The company was founded by Nguyễn Chí Dũng, Vũ Duy Hưng, and Nguyễn Lê Phong, with Nguyễn Chí Dũng serving as the Founder and CEO. Bonbon follows an online-to-offline model that uses digital tools to connect car owners with existing garages and automotive service providers.

The startup was created through the Tasco Foundry Wash3000 venture building programme, run by Tasco and GenAI Fund to identify and test new business models in Vietnam’s automotive service market.

Tasco supports Bonbon with access to automotive services and smart transportation infrastructure, including the VETC electronic toll collection ecosystem, while GenAI Fund supports the company through its venture-building model.

Market and Business Growth

Bonbon is targeting a fragmented car care market in Vietnam where many service providers operate independently and have limited digital tools. The company aims to create a more organised network connecting these providers with car owners.

Its platform is initially focused on car wash and vehicle-care services, while the company plans to expand into maintenance, detailing, and other automotive services.

What Happens Next?

With the new funding, Bonbon Mobility will focus on expanding its partner garage network, improving its technology platform, and building digital tools for service providers.

The company will also work on expanding its services as it builds its online-to-offline car-care network across Vietnam.

Leadership Statement

“The investment and support from Tasco and GenAI Fund provide Bonbon with additional resources as we enter our next stage of development,” said Nguyễn Chí Dũng, founder and CEO of Bonbon. “We will focus on further developing our technology platform, expanding our network of partner garages, and building digitalisation tools that help service providers improve operational efficiency and reach customers more effectively.”

“Bonbon is a successful outcome built from a real business challenge identified by Tasco,” said Laura Nguyễn, CEO and Managing Partner of GenAI Fund. “The core value of the Venture Builder model lies in transforming a corporation’s assets and scale into a launchpad that enables startups to move faster, while requiring the team to demonstrate its operational capabilities and the tangible value it delivers to users.”
