DTI-DepEd collaboration will use K4F-PH to future-proof the Filipino labor force. By equipping young students with information and skills pertinent to the sector, this project aims to create a workforce that is ready for the demands of the Philippine economy in the future.
This effort equips young students with industry-relevant skills and information to prepare them for Philippine industry’s changing needs.
The K4F-PH program’s innovative strategy for producing graduates who are prepared for the workforce by encouraging career and industry knowledge in pupils as early as basic education was highlighted by DTI Secretary Fred Pascual.
Building on this base, the program seeks to give students the ability to choose their academic paths with knowledge by including essential core skills into the curriculum.

Students are better prepared for success in important sectors like information technology and business process management, semiconductors, electronics, engineering, aerospace, electric vehicles, and renewable energy by matching their educational choices with career aspirations and broader economic growth objectives.
In addition to preparing people for fulfilling professions, this targeted approach to education and workforce development will spur innovation, draw in foreign direct investment, and solidify the country’s leadership position in the world.
“To maintain this advantage in our rapidly evolving world, we must bridge the growing skills gap, ensuring our education system aligns with the needs of our industries. Hence, the Kids for the Future program is that bridge. It will be our catalyst for synergy, uniting the academe, industry, and government in a shared mission to nurture a world-class workforce,” Secretary Pascual said.“As we embark on this transformative journey together, let us remember that the seeds we plant today will blossom into a future where Philippine industries flourish, Filipino talent is recognized globally, and the dreams of our youth become the driving force behind our nation’s success,” Secretary Pascual added.
In the future, the BOI will collaborate closely with DepEd to carry out other projects, particularly in creating more campaigns to pique students’ interest in degrees and courses linked to future industries and acquire capabilities for future employment or talents.
To counteract the reduction in the number of students enrolling in relevant engineering degrees, one potential solution is to undertake a career advocacy campaign on semiconductors and electronics at a few top-performing public high schools. This would assist the BOI’s aim of training 128,000 engineers and technicians by 2028.

In order to give high school students an immersive experience, they will also arrange industry familiarization tours inside animation and game development studios. Additionally, they will encourage more investments in the necessary infrastructure, devices, equipment, materials, and services to create a conducive learning ecosystem, which will increase foreign direct investment into the nation.
The DTI is spearheading the effort to facilitate job-skills matching and upgrading through its ASENSO Trabaho push. A vital part of this endeavor is the K4F-PH, which guarantees that the Philippines keeps its competitive edge by turning out graduates who are prepared for the workforce and who can spur innovation and draw in investors.
DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo M. Angara also expressed his support for the program, thanking the DTI for its unwavering support in all their initiatives including the crafting the of Tatak Pinoy Act..
