Audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has promoted its founding team member Lalit Gangwar to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In his new role, he will manage global operations and focus on growing the business, increasing revenue, and making sure everything runs smoothly as the company expands to other countries.
Pocket FM is working on building a strong and scalable global audio platform, and this promotion is part of that plan.
As COO, Lalit will work on entering new markets, improving systems and processes, and building strong teams to support future growth.
Lalit has been with Pocket FM since the beginning. He helped create the company’s early growth strategy in India, scaling it to over 150 million users in its first year and making it a leading platform in the audio entertainment space.
He also led Pocket FM’s expansion into the US, building the business from scratch and growing it into a strong international operation.
“Lalit has been central to Pocket FM’s journey from the very beginning. He has built our growth engine and scaled our business across markets. At Pocket FM, we strongly believe in growing leaders from within, and Lalit’s journey is a reflection of that. His ability to combine sharp execution with long-term thinking makes him the right leader to run our global audio business as we enter the next phase of growth,” said Rohan Nayak, Co-founder and CEO, Pocket FM.
“Pocket FM has always been driven by a simple belief that powerful stories can travel across borders and create meaningful impact. Having been part of this journey from the beginning, I am excited to take on this role and continue building a global business that empowers creators and delivers immersive storytelling experiences to audiences worldwide. Our focus will remain on scaling markets, investing in AI-led storytelling, and strengthening monetisation,” said Gangwar on his new role.
Pocket FM says it has more than 250 million listeners around the world and is continuing to grow its content and technology.
The company is investing in AI tools to help create stories and improve storytelling.
It has built a large community of creators, with over 300,000 writers and more than 100,000 audio series available on the platform.
Pocket FM now wants to become an AI-first entertainment platform, using both human creativity and technology to create and share content in different languages across global markets.
