Rio Health has raised $4.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Version One Ventures to expand its dark store network across Delhi-NCR and strengthen its healthcare delivery technology.
Delhi-NCR-based healthcare quick commerce platform Rio Health has raised $4.5 million (around ₹43.08 crore) in an all equity pre-Series A funding round led by Version One Ventures.
Existing investors Xeed Ventures, Good Capital, and Amplify also participated in the round.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to increase its dark stores from three to more than 15, expand its presence across Delhi-NCR and improve its ordering, inventory management and delivery technology.

Founded by Ankur Agrawal and Amit Ahuja Rio Health is a quick commerce platform focused on delivering medicines and healthcare essentials.
The company operates across Delhi-NCR and aims to deliver orders within 20 to 30 minutes.
Rio Health allows customers to search for products by speaking or typing in Hindi, English or Hinglish. Customers can also upload a photo of a prescription.
Its AI-led system identifies the prescribed products and creates an order which is then checked by a licensed pharmacist before fulfillment.
Rio Health Funding Details
Rio Health raised $4.5 million in pre-Series A funding with Version One Ventures leading the round.
Xeed Ventures, Good Capital, and Amplify also participated as existing investors.
Before the latest round, Rio Health had raised ₹19.16 crore through earlier funding rounds. With the latest investment the company's total funding has reached ₹62.24 crore, according to the information provided by the company.

A major portion of the fresh capital will be used to expand Rio Health's dark store network.
The company currently operates three dark stores and plans to increase this number to more than 15 stores across Delhi-NCR.
The funding will also be used to strengthen its technology infrastructure particularly its:

Rio Health's Business Model and Traction
Rio Health operates through a network of neighbourhood-level dark stores designed to support faster delivery of medicines and healthcare products.
According to the company it currently processes more than 30,000 orders every month and has an average order value of ₹600 to ₹700.
Around 80% of its orders come from repeat customers indicating that a significant share of its monthly orders comes from existing users.
Each dark store serves customers within a radius of approximately three kilometres.
Rio Health currently offers more than 20,000 stock keeping units (SKUs). When a medicine is not available at one of its stores the company can source it through its distributor network.
The company also uses neighbourhood-level demand data to forecast medicine requirements and plan inventory for its stores.
Rio Health's Growth Plans
Rio Health is targeting an annual run rate of more than ₹150 crore over the next nine to 12 months.
The company's growth strategy is centered on expanding its dark store network across Delhi-NCR while continuing to improve its technology-led ordering and fulfillment operations.
The planned increase from three to more than 15 dark stores is expected to expand its local delivery coverage and support its growing order volumes.
