Seitec Raises $2.85 million Seed Funding to Expand Military Seismic Sensing Technology in the US

Seitec, an Australia-based company from Canberra, has raised A$4 million (US$2.85 million) in Seed funding. The company develops software-based seismic sensing systems designed for military use.

The funding round has completed its first close at A$4 million, with another A$1 million still available. Investors include Beaten Zone Venture Partners, Activate Capital, and UNSW.

Seitec will use the new funding to increase its delivery capacity and expand into the US market. The company aims to turn its existing trials and customer opportunities into long-term commercial contracts.

Seitec is a dual-use defence technology company led by CEO Daniel Stevens and CTO Bevan Fairleigh. The company develops software-based seismic sensing systems that can be used for defence and security purposes.

Seitec works with allied military organisations and has already achieved Australian Defence Force (ADF) service entry for its UXOTrackS system.

The company also has paid trial contracts with the Air Warfare System Program Office (AWSPO) and the Australian Office of National Intelligence (ONI).

Seitec is also making progress in the US through the US Air Force Foreign Comparative Testing programme, which evaluates technologies developed outside the US for potential military use.
