WEX and Mastercard Partner to Launch Unified Fleet Payments Network in Asia-Pacific
Oct 12, 2026 | By Nguyen Minh

WEX and Mastercard have partnered to launch a unified fleet payments network across Asia-Pacific, bringing fuel, vehicle maintenance, tolling, and parking payments into a single system. The partnership aims to simplify fleet management, improve spending visibility, and reduce administrative work for businesses operating vehicle fleets.
The initiative is designed to create a single payment experience for fleet operators across the region. According to the companies, the network will help businesses manage different vehicle-related expenses through integrated payment and data infrastructure.
Asia-Pacific Fleet Payments Market Sees Strong Growth
The partnership comes as Asia-Pacific becomes one of the fastest-growing markets for fleet management. Fleet-card transaction volumes in the region reached an estimated $310 billion in 2025, representing approximately 31% of global volumes. The market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.3% through 2030.
Three Key Areas of the Partnership

The collaboration will focus on three main areas to improve fleet operations across Asia-Pacific.
Unified Payments and Data: The network will bring fuel, maintenance, tolling, parking, and other business expenses into a more integrated payment system, helping fleet managers monitor costs in one place.
Spending Controls and Insights: Businesses will have access to configurable spending controls, automated insights, and detailed transaction reporting. The system is also designed to provide line-item information, including fuel types and litres purchased.
Support for Hybrid and Electric Fleets: The platform will support businesses operating conventional fuel-powered, hybrid, and electric vehicles under a single account with consolidated invoicing.
WEX and Mastercard Executives Comment on the Partnership
Matt Arthur, Vice President and General Manager of APAC Mobility at WEX, said the partnership would bring the company's payments expertise to the Asia-Pacific mobility sector. He highlighted the importance of simplifying fleet operations and providing businesses with greater visibility as they transition to mixed-energy fleets.
Anouska Ladds, Executive Vice President of Commercial and New Payment Flows for Asia-Pacific at Mastercard, said the collaboration would combine Mastercard's global payment network with WEX's fleet management expertise to help businesses operate more efficiently.
The companies have not disclosed the financial terms of the partnership.
WEX and Mastercard Bring Payments Expertise
The partnership builds on the companies' existing relationship and combines their experience in payments and fleet management.
Mastercard's global network processed 175 billion transactions in 2025, according to the company's announcement. Its payment infrastructure will support the collaboration's goal of connecting fleet-related expenses through a unified experience.
WEX, which specialises in business payments and fleet management solutions, processed more than $237 billion in total volume across its global commerce platform in 2025. The company also stated that it ranks first globally by virtual card payment volume in the travel sector, accounting for 50% of such payments.
