A US$110 million Series B fundraising round was secured by Hong Kong-based electric heavy-duty truck startup Windrose Technology.
HITE Hedge Asset Management, Goodman Group, and other investors were among the backers. A portion of the series B funding came from bank debt, which was primarily provided by HSBC via its USD $3 billion HSBC New Economy Fund, a specialized lending program for start-ups and tech-driven companies.

The business plans to establish a new supply chain hub and production facility, install fast-charging infrastructure, and expedite the testing and global rollout of its electric long-haul trucks with the help of the funding.
Under the direction of its CEO and founder, Wen Han, Windrose Technology is developing the next generation of intelligent, zero-emission long-haul trucks to help customers move industrial and consumer goods globally at a lower cost and with cleaner logistics. Under a full load of 49 tons, the company’s first electric long-haul truck has a 670 km range. With its 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform, the Windrose EV truck can refuel its 400km of range in less than 36 minutes.

In addition, Windrose has finished testing in low, high, and high temperatures. In collaboration with clients and partners such as Rokin Logistics, Kerry Logistics, BorgWarner, and TUV SUD, Windrose has started deploying in China and will soon expand to Europe, the US, and Australia.
