AMD, FuriosaAI and MangoBoost Partner to Build AI Infrastructure Cluster
Nov 6, 2026 | By Carmela Catilo

AMD, South Korean AI chipmaker FuriosaAI, and AI infrastructure company MangoBoost have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure system in Seoul, South Korea. The companies are targeting 2027 for the first reference deployment.
Partnership to Combine AI Technologies
The agreement was announced on November 4 at AMD Advancing AI Seoul 2026. The partnership will combine technologies from all three companies to build an open and flexible AI infrastructure system.
Under the agreement, AMD will provide central processing units (CPUs) and graphics processing units (GPUs). FuriosaAI will contribute neural processing units (NPUs) designed for AI inference, while MangoBoost will provide data processing units (DPUs), networking technology, and system software.
Seoul Deployment Planned for 2027
MangoBoost will host the planned reference infrastructure at its facility in Seoul. The first hybrid system is expected to begin operating in 2027.
The companies will jointly review the system design and test how their hardware and software work together across AI inference workloads. The testing will focus on performance and compatibility between the different technologies.
However, the companies have not yet announced the project's budget, computing capacity, or potential customers.
Builds on Existing AMD and MangoBoost Collaboration
The partnership also builds on existing work between AMD and MangoBoost. In October 2026, AMD highlighted MangoBoost's use of AMD Instinct GPUs and ROCm software for AI inference services.
MangoBoost is also developing its Mango AI Factory, which will use AMD Instinct GPUs alongside its networking, server, storage, and inference software.
FuriosaAI to Contribute AI Inference Chips
Founded in South Korea in 2017, FuriosaAI develops specialised AI chips for inference workloads. Its neural processing units will add a Korean-developed AI chip component to the planned infrastructure.
The company has also been expanding its commercial activities in the AI sector. In February 2026, FuriosaAI signed a technology supply agreement with Nota AI to support AI model optimisation for its RNGD accelerator in data centre deployments.
Focus on South Korea's AI Infrastructure Ecosystem
Through this collaboration, AMD, FuriosaAI, and MangoBoost aim to strengthen South Korea's AI infrastructure capabilities and support the development of local technology companies.
The partners also want to create opportunities for Korean technologies to become part of global AI supply chains. Any expansion beyond the initial Seoul deployment will depend on technical validation and future commercial decisions.
