[FUNDING NEWS] India-Based AstroTalk Secures $9.5 Million in Series A Funding

AstroTalk, an online astrology portal, has secured an additional Rs 78.3 crore, or $9.5 million, from Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Capital, its current investors, as part of a Series A investment.

AstroTalk, an online astrology portal, has secured an additional Rs 78.3 crore, or $9.5 million, from Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Capital, its current investors, as part of a Series A investment.

In order to generate Rs 78.3 crore, or $9.5 million, the AstroTalk board has approved a special resolution to issue 5,067 mandatory convertible preference shares.

Left Lane Capital provided Rs 58.3 crore, while Elev8 Capital contributed Rs 20 crore. This seems to be a tranche taken from a larger round.

Twenty million rupees, or Rs 166 crore, came from it’s February Series A round, which brought in a total of Rs 172 crore. The first site to report on the development was Entrackr.

Astrological consultations can be arranged via chat, phone, or the website AstroTalk. Among its members are 13,000 astrologers, numerologists, tarot readers, and Vastu specialists. The experts listed above are available for consultation with portal users who seek future predictions on a range of subjects, such as marriage, a career, a personal connection, and health.
