DASH Technology Group Appoints Macquarie Veteran Glenn Poynton as New CEO

Australian fintech company DASH Technology Group (DASH) has appointed Glenn Poynton as its new CEO, effective immediately. DASH provides software that helps financial advisers move their services online and manage them digitally.

Poynton joins DASH after spending several years at Macquarie. He will take over from Andrew Whelan, who left the company in May after serving as CEO since 2021.

During Whelan’s time as CEO, DASH received multiple investments from Sydney-based venture capital firm Bailador Technology Investments. These investments supported the company’s growth and expansion.

DASH also completed the acquisition of Integrated Portfolio Solutions in 2025 under Whelan’s leadership. Poynton will now lead the company as it continues to grow its financial technology and advisory software business.

Glenn Poynton brings 30 years of experience in fintech and wealth management to his new role at DASH. Before joining DASH, he was the Executive Director of Corporate Development at Betashares, an investment management company.

Earlier in his career, Poynton worked as Chief Strategy Officer at fintech company Class, where he was involved in developing the company’s business strategy.

Poynton also spent nine years at Macquarie Group, holding several senior positions. One of his roles was Division Director of Wealth Product Strategy, where he focused on wealth management products and strategy.

Before that, he spent eight years at Macquarie Bank, working on areas such as trading, market-making, and back-office operations. His experience across these roles gives him a strong background in financial services and technology.
