MediElaj Raises $100K From Friends and Family

Healthcare app and smart diagnostic kiosk MediElaj has raised around US$100,000 from friends and family.

In addition, the founders have invested nearly US$500,000 of their own money to build the company’s technology platform, AI-powered healthcare system, kiosk network, and to run daily operations.

Debjit Patra, Founder & Chairman, said, “We envision MediElaj becoming one of Bharat’s and the world’s leading AI-enabled healthcare accessibility platforms focused on preventive, affordable, and scalable healthcare delivery.”

“Our mission is to build a connected healthcare ecosystem that brings intelligent healthcare support closer to millions of people across Tier 2, Tier 3, rural, and underserved regions of India,” added Patra.

Founded in 2023 by Debjit Patra and Umesh Khatri, MedPredict, based in Gurugram, is a healthtech company that is developing AI-based tools for medical diagnosis through its main platform, MediElaj.

It uses a mobile app and smart kiosks to provide early health checks and preventive care, especially for people in rural and underserved areas in India and other countries.

These kiosks can do AI-based health screening, simple non-invasive tests, give health advice through conversation, and store digital medical records. The aim is to provide basic healthcare in small towns and villages so people do not need to travel to big cities.

The company is now planning to increase production, expand its kiosks across the country, improve its AI and cybersecurity systems, and work with partners to build a wider healthcare network for Tier 2, Tier 3, rural, and underserved regions.
