StarHub to Acquire MyRepublic Mobile Business

A telecommunications company based in Singapore named StarHub will buy the business of MyRepublic in Singapore. This move is part of StarHubs plan to grow its strategy with brands and to become stronger in the telecommunications market of the country.

The deal is expected to help StarHub have strength for network investment new ideas for services and better experience for customers. The deal needs some conditions to be met. Is expected to finish by April 30 2027.

StarHub to Take Over MyRepublic Mobile

The total value of the deal has not been decided yet. According to what StarHub submitted the final amount will depend on things like the number of 4G and 5G users the average money made per user each month and how long users stay with the service.

MyRepublic Mobile had 85,000 active users and made a profit of S$2.4 million for the 12 months up to June 30 2026. The average money made per user was around S$13 each month.

MyRepublic Customers to Continue Using the Service

This acquisition is not expected to stop MyRepublic Mobile users from using the service. They are already being slowly moved from M1s network to StarHubs network because of an earlier agreement between the two companies.

StarHub said that the MyRepublic Mobile name and the way the service is offered will stay the same. The deal will bring together the parts of both companies.

StarHub Already Owns MyRepublic’s Broadband Business

The deal will make StarHub the owner of both the broadband and mobile parts of MyRepublic in Singapore.

StarHub bought the broadband part of MyRepublic in August 2025 for S$105.2 million. The company has also been increasing its presence in the MVNO market. This is because the telecommunications market in Singapore is becoming more competitive and there is pressure on money made from services.

StarHub recently moved customers from the MVNO redONE to its brand called eight.

Singapore Telco Market Sees Consolidation

This deal with MyRepublic Mobile is happening as the telecommunications industry in Singapore is becoming more combined.

StarHubs money from services dropped 10.5% compared to the same time the year before. It was S$245.3 million for the half of 2026. Singtel has also said that there is pressure from price competition in its operations in Singapore.

StarHub CEO Eapen once said that smaller companies, in the MVNO market could be bought or taken over by companies that have more money.
